What is mindfulness? Mindfulness is being attentive to what is happening as it is, without judgment. Mindfulness is living in the present, not regretting your past, or worrying about the future. Sounds easy, but not always an easy thing to do .
Because most people become stagnant and cannot move forward. They dwell in the past or just simply go through the motions of living day after day, without thinking.
Mindfulness is something that we all possess, but not everyone understands how to use or practice. Being mindful occurs whenever you bring awareness to what you are experiencing through your senses, or to your state of mind by your emotions or thoughts.
While mindfulness increases your awareness, there are many other benefits. Practicing mindfulness improves your well-being, physical health, and mental health. There are many ways to practice mindfulness, but all share a common goal: achieve a state of alert, focused relaxation by intentionally paying attention to thoughts and sensations without judgment. All mindfulness techniques are a form of meditation.
There are many ways to learn meditation, such as taking a class, listening to meditation CD, or using an app. Any of these mediums can assist you in learning basic meditation techniques. Whichever medium you choose, remember you are making an investment in yourself.
