We often hear that we shouldn’t take things so personally.
But what does this actually mean?
If someone we love or care for says something hurtful or is shaming us, we’re likely to feel judged and criticized.
It is unrealistic to think that we should not be personally affected when someone close to us says something critical or dismissive.
As human beings, we affect each other.
So, what can we do?
✔️Stop worrying about what other people think.
✔️Know your worth.
✔️Don’t jump to conclusions.
✔️Create space between you and your reactions. Rein in your emotions.
✔️Let things go.
✔️Don’t fall into negativity.
Replying with negative words will only exacerbate the situation. It may feel satisfying initially but will likely be something you regret.
